Kanye West: design star?

Prepare for Kanye West’s fashion reinvention. We now have confirmation that the Celine-wearing rapper is working with designer Louise Goldin to launch a ready-to-wear label.

Professor Louise Wilson, MA fashion course director at Central Saint Martins, told The Guardian that she advised West about starting his own range, and that the rapper had recently made a donation to the college.

Goldin, known for her knitwear designs, is reportedly working with West from her studio in London, but the pair is expected to launch their label during New York fashion week.

West is a fixture at seasonal fashion shows, most recently attending the Givenchy couture presentation and Azzedine Alaia’s rare show in Paris. He

FHM apologises for femiman slur

It ranked him ahead of Lady Gaga and former Victoria’s Secret model Izabel Goular in its annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World list, but lads’ magazine FHM has been forced to apologise to Australia’s femiman Andrej Pejic after referring to the male model as a “thing” online.

Pejic, the Broadmeadows boy in hot demand on international catwalks for his delicate looks, was voted for inclusion on the list by the magazine’s US readers, The Guardian has reported.

Public get to peek at hot Kiwi label designs

TRELISE COOPER: The New Zealand fashion heavyweight has been announced as part of the Fashion Week line-up.

In just over six weeks, Auckland’s Viaduct will be abuzz with New Zealand Fashion Week and today the much-anticipated designer list has been announced.

It includes New Zealand fashion heavyweights such as Trelise Cooper, Hailwood, Zambesi, WORLD and Juliette Hogan, as well as Starfish, Kathryn Wilson shoes, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Sabatini and Huffer.

According to industry insiders, up-and-comers to watch include Neverblack, Celine Rita and Brady.

Roberto Cavalli talks sex, cannibals, tiger cubs

Our Italian evening may have ended with Dolce & Gabbana, but it began with Cavalli. Roberto Cavalli, the don of thigh splits, joined Colin McDowell in conversation at Selfridges. 

Any expectations for a genial if predictable conversation were blasted out of the water around minute three, when Cavalli started telling the crowd about making love to his wife for the first time.

‘We make love the first night after wedding. After three, four years that we were together, that was the first time. I got my first daughter after nine months and 10 days.’
