So we’ve all heard the news about John Galliano – the designer who was fired from his position at fashion house Christian Dior, after accusations were made of him making anti-Semitic slurs – but new details have emerged on this story to reveal that the Briton is seeking professional help in rehab.

The 50-year-old designer (pictured) has reportedly been urged by friends, including models Kate Moss and Noami Campbel, to seek professional help for his alcohol problems following the breaking news of this week.

While Galliano still appears to have the support of his close friends, his supposed racist slurs have caused waves in the fashion industry.

Jewish actress Natalie Portman, who is the current face of Dior, immediately withdrew her interest in having any involvement with the designer, while Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld has now also publicly aired his views:

“The thing is, we are a business world where, especially today, with the internet, one has to be more careful than ever, especially if you are a publicly known person. You cannot go in the street and be drunk – there are things you cannot do.”

He continued to add that he was ‘furious’ with Galliano.

According to the New York Times newspaper, the treatment facility that Galliano’s has checked into is believed to be The Meadows.
