Hoodie That Holds Beer = Radness

You know the first thing that I like to do when I come home from skiing, snowshoeing or any other tiring winter sport? Wrap myself in my warmest, most comfortable shirt and kick back with a cold beer.

Clearly the folks at Columbia enjoy the same after-sport activity . The Koozie Hoodie is a big, comfortable hooded sweatshirt that is as prepared for apres-ski beers as any garment ever sewn together. While it lacks an integrated cooler, it does have two large pockets purpose-built for storing beers–in either can or bottle form .

Josh Sims’ Icons of Men’s Style

Last week a new menswear coffee-table book was released, Icons of Mens Style by Josh Sims, a UK-based fashion writer. The icons in question are not men but clothing items, and include such trad staples as khakis, buttondown shirts, tweed jackets and sack suits.

Also included are loafers, and in fact Sims section on pennies and tassels has some interesting facts. Laurence King Publishing was kind enough to furnish us with the text:

The origins of the modern loafer are as much in accident as in intent. American shoe manufacturers were looking for a style that would be definitively their own, rather than effectively an import from the famed English shoemaking towns in Northamptonshire.

Sigg’s American Water Bottle Distributor Bankrupt

Two years ago we asked TreeHugger readers, if, in light of revelations that Sigg aluminum water bottled had actually contained Bisphenol-A (BPA) linings, would they be returning their bottles. 200 said they would. But they were just the tip of a huge iceberg of US customer dissatisfaction for in the end 306,371 bottles were returned to Sigg for replacement with newer non-BPA bottles.

A couple of months ago Sigg’s US distributor filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection saying they’d lost millions of dollars in decreased sales.
